How long will it take to learn:
Students have been riding on the kiteboard after 5 - 15 hours.
The average is around 7 - 10 hours over 5 days.
Why does it vary and how long will it take you?
You can never know exactly but here are a few things to consider to define where you should be on this range and a few things that influence how quickly you will progress to boardstarts and riding
general fitness level
Previous wind-related activities (sailing, kiting, paragliding, etc.)
Previous board sports (wakeboarding, skateboarding, snowboarding)

Course Structure
You can find the general structure of the beginner kite course with an approximate timeline for each stage below. Some students will go through each stage of course quicker than others depending on previous experiences as outlined above. Other students might take longer to complete the course. The learning process is very individual and we adapt the course to each student to ensure a safe learning environment and that you complete all steps to become a safe and independent kitesurfer knowing all aspects the sport takes.
Stage 1 / first 2 to 3 hours
A 10-minute theory summarised / more throughout the course

4 line trainer flying and exercises
Figure of eight / Power strokes / One-handed flying / RelaunchingInflatable kite flying, body dragging, upwind body dragging, and power strokes.
Additional Trainer Kite flying
Students can complete the trainer kite exercises in 30 minutes and we move straight onto the kite setup and safety systems and then onto the inflatable kites and straight into the water.
Sometimes students are on the trainer for the entire 2-hour session. If they need extra time on the trainer kite after the first two-hour session we allow free unlimited practice on these kites until they develop the required skills to move on with the course.

Perfecting body dragging techniques
Upwind body dragging with board
Body dragging back to the board
The first board starts and first meters
Stage 3 / hours 6-8
Perfecting board riding and working on consistent riding
Once consistent riding is reached we work on upwind riding
Once upwind riding is reached we work on transitions
Stage 4 / hours 8+
Working on riding the board
